Events for the House of Lithuania for 2005:

Ethnic Food Fair
Sunday, May 29th
The House of Lithuania will be participating in the Ethnic Food Fair this year for the first time in many, many years. We'll be serving free samples of šaltibarščiai between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. (until we run out). Come and sample this Lithuanian specialty!

Annual Lawn Program
Sunday, August 14th
The House of Lithuania will present its annual Lawn Program at 2 P.M. on the stage in between the international cottages in Balboa Park. We'll be serving a variety of ethnic Lithuanian foods at very reasonable prices.

Hosting the Hall of Nations:
Since we do not have a cottage of our own, we host the Hall of Nations on at least four Sundays throughout the year, from one to four in the afternoon.

Throughout 2003, the House of Lithuania will host the Hall of Nations on the following dates:

Sunday, February 20th
Sunday, May 15th
Sunday, August 14th
Sunday, November 20th

We display a very nice collection of Lithuanian books, magazines, maps, weavings, decorated eggs, and more! There will also be Lithuanian videos playing continuously. Come join us to chat about Lithuanian culture, history, and genealogy. We hope to see you there!

December Nights
(formally Christmas on the Prado)
December 3rd and 4th, 2005
5 P.M. to 9 P.M.

Past Events:

Lithuanian Delegation:

On Saturday, January 26th, 2002, a delegation from Lithuania visited the Bernardzio Brazdzionio Lithuanian Language school (which is sponsored by the House of Lithuania). Click here to read the Union-Tribune article about their visit.

Annual Lawn Program:

The following photographs are from our 2000 Lawn Program. Photos from subsequent lawn programs will be up soon. Our annual lawn program takes place on the stage at the north end of International Cottages' lawn in Balboa Park. There were performances by the Performing Folk Dancers of Balboa Park as well as by "Jura"--San Diego's Lithuanian Dance Ensemble. There was a great turnout!

Our food booth was also a big hit! We sold out of almost everything and the day was a great success! Next year we hope to do even better.
