Rebekah's Birth Story

On Thursday, September 4th, 2003 at 8:17 A.M., Rebekah Sharon Antonina Williams made her entrance into this world. Our plans did not include an emergency C-section, but we are grateful to have come home safe and well with our daughter.

I had to wait until Jessica (my midwife) arrived before I could go into a birthing room. Mike never left my side.

Notice that the medic behind me is looking at the photographer (my mom) as if she's nuts. I guess these folks aren't used to having people take pictures of them at work.

I didn't even have to walk to the ambulance. What service!

Rebekah was sent to NICU after birth because she inhaled a little amniotic fluid and was a little cold, but her Daddy never left her side for a moment.

Before Marianna came and brought others to see me, time passed very slowly in recovery. It was at least a few hours after the surgery before I got to see my daughter.
